Ayako Ogawa Ed.D. is an essayist and global education scholar. She was the Director of the Japanese Language Program at UCBA (formerly Raymond Walters College of the University of Cincinnati). Prior to that she was the Director of the Japanese Language Program at Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Ayako Ogawa is a Global Explorer who has visited over 100 countries across 6 continents including Nepal, Sri Lanka, India, Pakistan, Egypt, Morocco, Mexico, and Western Samoa as well as all the countries in South America.

Ayako Ogawa is a Free-lance Travelogue Writer in Japan and is working to Promote Global Education in Japan. She has made many lectures and presentations with regard to cross-cultural and global education. Ogawa published several books and her newest book is "Across the Milky Way," which she wrote in both English and Japanese, based on her experiences. Other books are: "Suddenly, like a flame," which is a look back on her first eight years in the United States and explores everything from getting her driver's license to achieving her doctorate degree in education; "See You at the Opposite Ends of this Globe," in which Ogawa collaborated with her husband about their travels across the world. Ayako Ogawa is enjoying the best of both worlds, as she lives part time in her native country of Japan as well as part time in Cincinnati.
